Branksome Hall Asia alumna class of 2017, Jungeun Christina Cho shared with us about her USC life!

I am currently majoring in Communication and minoring in Cinematic Arts at USC. Located at the center of LA, USC is an excellent school for someone who is considering their career or future in the entertainment business. Because of the locational advantage, I get a lot of opportunities to be engaged with the entertainment industry. For instance, at the end of October, I had a chance to preview the new “Charlie’s Angles” movie in class - we have several theaters in our school for both lecture and screening of films - and engage with a discussion session with the director Elizabeth Banks. (She is really famous!) There is a lot of opportunities in USC for me to network with the professionals working on site. Moreover, unlike most of the universities, I have one-on-one academic/career advisement with my designated advisor at USC, which is very helpful to organize my classes and prepare for my career as well. I also enjoy life in LA since there are so many different places to go and experience. I can grab a coffee in Philz coffee in Downtown LA, enjoy Disneyland or Universal Studios during Thanksgiving break, and order 엽기떡볶이 for dinner if I am craving Korean food. There are so many more options to enjoy in LA. I think this is one of the outcompeting advantages of USC because I can enjoy both urban and rural life, experience both American and Korean culture, and balance between studying and playing. Overall, I am happy with my life as a USC Trojan, and I hope to meet more Trojans in BHA alumni gatherings!
