Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing break

Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing break. You have more than earned it.

What a successful first term we have enjoyed at Branksome Hall Asia. On a global level we have a lot to be grateful for. In the midst of a global pandemic, we have been able to maintain almost uninterrupted classroom instruction and have had to contend with fairly modest changes to our programming. We have been very fortunate indeed.

I am hopeful, with the anticipated availability of vaccines, that this time of challenge will end and we can move forward normally in due course. For my part, I will not remember the specific covid-19 related challenges that we have faced. These are simply circumstances, or things that have happened to us.

What will remain indelibly stamped into my psyche will be proud memories and feelings related to the way we handled these challenges.  Talking to residence students today and seeing their resilient smiles reminded me of how we are achieving our mission of creating independent, resilient, and strong young women leaders. I have been deeply moved by students who have offered words of encouragement and their assistance to their peers. A few students today even asked how I was doing and offered to assist school administration with whatever needed doing. The proof is in the pudding.  Mission accomplished.

What we are doing at Branksome Hall Asia to forge young leaders is directly supported by our ideal family community. Indeed I  have received many positive words of encouragement over the past three days in emails from parents and some of these were read this morning at our administrative meeting. Such words were like fuel that motivated the team as we prepared communications and procedures to continue to ensure safety and ensure the quality of our students’ classroom learning experience.

We are tested in adversity and the events of the past months have provided such overwhelming evidence of the support, strength, and resilience of our students and community. It is a privilege to walk beside you and I wish everyone a safe and relaxing break. You have more than earned it.

Very best,
