Who says reading and poetry can’t be exciting?

March ended with our G6 and 7 students competing in their first MS Battle of the Books competition at Cheongna Dalton School in Seoul.  The students were excited to share their reading experiences with other students and came in 2nd and 6th place.

MS students also finished a reading challenge just before the April break with 4 classes achieving their reading goals and enjoying a pizza celebration.

Poets Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger, Outspoken Literacy Consultants have just spent a week inspiring our students to share their emotions and practice public speaking using poetry. The culminating event was a Middle School poetry slam where over 20 students and teachers shared poems.

April 22nd - 26th was Book and Poetry week.  We had gorgeous weather for our Book Character Dress Up Parade which was well attended by students and parents. To finish up April, our JS students will participate in the Elementary Battle of the Books competition at GSIS, Seoul.
