The Strength within the New Health and Wellbeing Program

On Wednesday 1st September, the first day of the new Extended Advisory Health and Wellbeing program took place. Over the academic year, students from the Middle and Senior School will explore the units of ‘Coming Together’ a Grade level Team Unit.

During their first lesson in the unit of ‘Coming Together’, Middle and Senior students explored their strengths with their advisors by completing a character strengths survey. It was fascinating to hear feedback from students about what they found out about themselves in the form of their personalized signature strengths. Our Head Girl, Gayeon enjoys completing MBTI personality tests and on first impressions thought this was an MBTI, but found through inquiry that;

“the survey led me to reflect upon how I am applying my personality to my academic leadership and learning. The results aligned somehow with my personality ”

Gayeon’s top five Character Strengths were Kindness, Humor, Gratitude, Love of Learning, and Perseverance.

After talking to many students across the Middle and Senior school, they were often not surprised about their results. The new Extended Advisory Health and Wellbeing Program will be introducing a variety of new health and wellbeing skills that the students will use to build their strengths both for their school and life careers.
