Seonwoo Lee and Jisu Hong (G11) - IB MYP Innovator Grant Award

- Message from Teacher -

Seonwoo Lee and Jisu Hong exemplify the four core Branksome Hall Asia Design attributes of enjoying the design process, developing skills that integrate different disciplines, applying technology to solve problems and looking at alternatives. They worked hard to investigate and source "off-the-shelf" components for their invention along with keeping an eye on the prize of democratizing food production. Both students displayed an active interest in taking risks and have really learned a lot on the subject of automation and low-level programming. I congratulate Seonwoo and Jisu on their achievement and I look forward to seeing how increased funding can bring their invention to the next stage of development.

IB MYP Innovator Grant Award

This project, called Greenhouse in the Street, is a project led by Jisu and me, with the funding of the IB.

Our project is to build, program, and provide our customized micro-greenhouse to both the local and international community.

The challenge our project will address is achieving food security by allowing consumers to grow food in their own houses. This project can lead to innovation by improving agricultural productivity, benefiting the local community, and contributing to sustainability.
