Safety is our highest priority

Safety is our highest priority, along with our commitment to maintain the best quality of education possible.

As we wrap up our second week back at school, I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding. As you are aware, it was necessary to close school this past Wednesday in order to ensure student and staff safety during Typhoon Bavi. As a result,  September 25th will be converted from a PD day to a regular instructional day.

We are also closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and its resurgence in Korea. We are truly fortunate to have our beautiful campus located on the relatively safe Island of Jeju. The campus is currently fully open and operational and we intend to stay open unless directed otherwise by the Korean authorities.  We must be vigilant as a community to ensure everyone's safety, especially our children. In addition to the measures currently in place on campus,  I would suggest that you refrain from travelling to the mainland unless travel is absolutely necessary. We do not have any active cases of COVID-19 in the GEC community and we are hopeful that this circumstance will not change.

There are exciting things happening at Branksome Hall Asia over the coming week! I am pleased to inform you about the virtual ‘Korea World University Fair,’ that will be hosted by Branksome Hall Asia and Chadwick International School. This promises to be an amazing event and approximately 210 renowned universities will be in attendance to offer admissions information, counseling and special sessions. Institutions that include the University of Cambridge, Columbia University, Imperial College London, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the National University of Singapore among scores of others will be represented. Prior to the main fair, there will be a special session by Brown University and the University of Chicago exclusively for students from Branksome Hall Asia and Chadwick International school. We hope that our students enjoy this exceptional opportunity.

Thank you again for your tremendous support during this challenging time.

Take care and be well,
