Safety Comes First at Branksome Hall Asia

By Dr. Mark Lee
Chair of the Health and Safety Committee

It has been an active year so far within the Health and Safety Committee. Keeping our students, parents and staff safe is very important. The members of the committee meet weekly to review our Covid-19 guidelines in light of ongoing recommendations by the health authorities and Provincial Office of Education. The school also practices regular evacuation, lockdown, and earthquake drills in accordance with recommendations made by our accrediting bodies that include the Council of International Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

This year, in order to enhance campus safety, we are training many of our staff members in Basic Life Support, CPR and First Aid.  These training sessions began in September and will continue throughout the fall.

Just a reminder about a few other safety related practices and procedures:

  • Thank you for having your identification lanyard with you when you enter school property.
  • Students who ride bicycles to school are asked to wear helmets.
  • Please be very careful when driving in the area of Gate 1, especially during drop off and pick up times.
  • Please turn right when exiting Gate 1 when the Traffic Loop is in effect. Attempting left hand turns during Traffic Loop times blocks traffic and decreases safety.
  • Please follow the instructions of security personnel. They are there to help and keep everyone safe.
