BHA Library Team

In the Junior School, we had 160 students and teachers sign up for the 40 Book Challenge Academic Enrichment Program. The international teachers were mainly reading books in Korean and the students were focusing on English. The challenge was run on Seesaw this year with students completing different activities from a choice board for each of 10 books that they read. By the end of May, more than half the students had read 40 Books with an impressive 26 reading 80 Books and 23 reading 100 books.

The Junior School Summer Reading program will follow a similar format to the 40 Book Challenge with students completing a different activity each week for 6 weeks over the summer. Students will be able to access the Morning Calm Medal nominees and SORA Sweet Reads, as well as a wide range of magazines through our SORA platform.

The Middle School and Senior School:  The Middle School again has the required summer reading, but students can choose any book they wish, fiction or nonfiction, physical or digital.  Books on the Libguide are there as suggestions, but there is plenty more from which to choose!  While summer reading is optional for the Senior School, the Library is sponsoring a Genre Reading Challenge to encourage students to read widely.
