Putting the Service into Spirit Week 2020

By Florence Wayas, Service Learning Coordinator

To close out the month of January, we celebrated our annual BHA Spirit Week with special dress days chosen by our service groups to support their service projects.

On Monday, our students all wore their favorite pajamas for the Pajama Day chosen by the Sustainability Academy, who will use the money to introduce sustainable dryers around the school to eliminate the masses of single-use plastic wasted when it rains.

On Tuesday, our UNESCO Academy inspired us to all dress in our very best swag to support them with their work to raise awareness of the April 3rd massacre with UNESCO.

Wednesday was an opportunity to celebrate our national pride by wearing our national dress and it was lovely to see so many members of our Branksome Hall Asia community from the junior up to the senior school dressed in their national dress.

A lot of fun was had and choosing the students with the best ‘school spirit’ was very difficult, but the winning prize had to go to Mr. Strozzo’s Advisory group who made an effort to take part every day - and we do so admire Mr. Strozzo’s very fetching dressing gown!

We raised a total of KRW 419,400, giving both the Sustainability Council and UNESCO Academy KRW 209,700 each towards their service projects.
