Paws 4 Thought Selfie Fundraiser

Paws 4 Thought Selfie Fundraiser

Get creative and start snapping selfies with your pets to raise funds for animals!

Many of our Junior School students are passionate about animals and want to be actively involved in promoting animal welfare in Jeju, where, in a single shelter in 2018, over a thousand cats and in excess of 8000 dogs passed through their doors. The shelters struggle to cope with such large numbers and are reliant on dedicated volunteers to support them. As a result of this, the Junior School students wanted to take action and the ‘Paws 4 Thought’ Service CASE came about in 2019. The Grade 3, 4, and 5 students who signed up, spearheaded a Christmas donation drive that saw children of all ages throughout the Junior School donate over one hundred and twenty kilograms of dog and cat food, as well as blankets, toys, and other pet supplies. The Jeju Animal Shelter volunteers used the children’s donations to get the homeless animals through winter.

This year sees the return of ‘Paws 4 Thought’ in the Junior School. Our aim is to continue to support these volunteers with their amazing work by raising funds, whilst also having loads of fun! The Grade 3, 4 and 5 students are challenging pet lovers throughout the Branksome Hall Asia community to take selfies in their number one uniforms with their pets! These selfies will then be entered into an online competition on Branksome Hall Asia Instagram where the top 12 entries with the most ‘likes’ will be selected for the Branksome Hall Asia 2021 ‘Paws 4 Thought’ calendar. Six of the finalists will be selected from the Middle and Senior School, with the remaining six reserved for the Junior School. All funds raised from the sale of these calendars will be donated to the Jeju Animal Shelter volunteers. If you and your pet are interested in being the next faces of our Branksome Hall Asia calendar, then keep an eye out around campus for submission details on the posters designed by the ‘Paws 4 Thought’ students. Get creative and start snapping those selfies!
