Parent Teacher Interviews

By Peter Hong, Korean Teacher

Parent Teacher Interviews (PTI) were held in late November in the Middle and Senior Schools. Many parents attended with much anticipation to help support their children’s school life. Branksome Hall Asia’s PTI sessions act as an important communication tool for students, parents, and faculty to share insights into each student's learning. They also provide an opportunity to discuss the student's school life, peer relationships, and the areas they are most passionate about. By understanding what projects our students have recently been working on, parents are given a peek into the window of their children’s thoughts and the thought processes that our students go through as they learn and engage in the curricular program at Branksome.

The following are a few of the reflections we received from parents following the interviews.

“It was a great opportunity to understand what school life is like for my child.”

“By looking at the work my daughter has done, I was able to have a better understanding of what my child feels and thinks.”

“It was an amazing opportunity to learn what goes on in the classroom.”

“It was so touching to actually realize that my child isn’t a little girl anymore.”

“I now know what my daughter’s strengths are and areas she needs more work on.”

“I’d really like to know how I can play a strong role as a parent, I will actively support in areas I can.  The interviews gave me lots of ideas for how to help my daughter.”

Branksome Hall Asia’s Parent Teachers Interviews are scheduled twice a year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring. The next PTI Session will be held on April 16-17, 2020. It will be another opportunity for our parents to see how much their daughter has grown academically and individually and we look forward to meeting you at the next session. Parents are welcome to contact the school at any time, as well, should they wish to discuss their daughters learning.
