Lights, Audience, Action! JS Spring Production - The Little Mermaid JR

The hallways of the Branksome Hall Asia Junior School have been echoing with the excitement of children's voices for days now. The students walk with their music sheets and scripts in hand and practice their lines over and over again. Our preparation for the annual Junior School Production is just about to start, but already our students are overflowing with enthusiasm!
 

This week, over 100 Grade 3-5 students auditioned for a lead role in "The Little Mermaid Jr," a musical production adapted for Junior School that narrates the story of a mermaid who encounters numerous adventures both under the sea and on land. Ariel will need the help and guidance of her friends to escape the evil spell from the most famous sorceress across all oceans, Ursula. This is a story of friendship and resilience, set in a location that evokes the one we all enjoy every day: the beautiful island of Jeju.
 

The Junior School students will be involved in the whole creative process of this production, from learning the story to designing the set for the show. They will work on their own costumes, prepare a musical number for the production, and have the opportunity to experience the backstage dynamics and thrill of creating a magical micro-world, the world of The Little Mermaid, in which they will be immersed in the preparation of this musical.
