Library Information for New School Year

Welcome to the BHA library and to new and returning families.  We are excited to share our plans for the new school year. 

In the Junior School, to support the environment, we are asking returning students to reuse the purple library bags that were issued last year.  New students will be provided with a bag at the start of the year. We are also giving each student a permanent library card that will be theirs throughout their time in Junior School. These new cards are being used instead of the laminated library cards we issued previously. All JS students will visit the library once per week with their homeroom class and once every two weeks with their language class. To help keep track of the books that your children borrow, we will be sending overdue email reminders directly from the library to parent email addresses.  Please add library@branksome.asia to your email whitelist.

In Middle and Senior school we have increased borrowing limits so MS students can borrow up to 9 books at a time and SS students can borrow up to 10. This procedure should help our students to choose a balanced number of books in English and their Mother Tongue languages, or books from the other languages that we support. We are looking forward to celebrating reading during our Summer Reading Program day on September 9th. 

Upcoming whole school events this semester will include Hangul Day celebrations, plans for a Human Library program, a Murder Mystery night for Senior School and Chinese language and literature celebrations. We will also be offering specific parent events like our Book Club and parent workshops.
