Branksome Hall Asia Library Team

As the end of the year approaches, the library is buzzing! We recently hosted our annual Winter Book Fair in collaboration with English Book Town. For three days the school center was packed with excited shoppers from across the school purchasing a wide variety of books to keep them busy reading throughout the upcoming winter break.

On January 17th and 18th we are thrilled to host our first Branksome Hall Asia Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library event based on the popular series by Chris Grabenstein.  Students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 will be invited to put together teams to navigate their way through a series of challenges, including Dewey puzzles and pictograms, trivia quizzes, rebus puzzles, crosswords, word searches and a games round. Check out the display in the library or read books from the series on Sora. A sign up form will be available when we return to school in January.

In March we are planning a Living Library event with the theme of “Facing Adversity.”  This event will be for Middle School students and will let them listen to real stories from people who have faced and overcome adversity during their lives.  We would welcome any stories from parents who wish to participate as living books.  Please complete this survey if you are interested.  Stories can be shared in any language and training and guidance will be provided prior to the event.
