INCLASSIC Music Competition
From Roy Lee(SKMG)
On June 30th, we celebrated an incredible achievement by one of our own – Roy Lee (SKMG), a student at Branksome Hall Asia. Roy made history as the first Korean to win the grand prize at the renowned INCLASSIC MUSIC competition, an international event hosted by the "Inspiration. Vivat-talent" program.
"Inspiration. Vivat-talent" is a Russian international online competition supported by St. Petersburg's Mayor and promoted by institutions such as the Rimsky-Korsakov National Conservatory, Shostakovich National Symphony Orchestra, Herzen State Pedagogical University Music Theater and Choreography Institute, and St. Petersburg University of Culture and Arts. This competition attracts more than 200 competitors from around the world, making it truly prestigious.
But Roy's achievements didn't stop there! On July 31st, Roy also won the New York Daily Orchestra Competition, earning an invitation to perform at both Lincoln Hall and Carnegie Hall next June – a remarkable feat for the youngest harpist ever to receive this honor.
In addition to these accomplishments, Roy also secured the Grand Prize at the 1st Strings Classic: String Instrument East Asia Online Competition, held on August 20th.
Looking forward, Roy has ambitious plans. She intends to participate in two to three harp competitions each year, both locally and internationally. Additionally, Roy is eager to continue her musical journey as part of orchestras, harp ensembles, and as a solo performer. We can't wait to see all the amazing things Roy will achieve in the future!
