Helpful tips at this time of year for Grade 12 

Parents, in order to help your students prepare for the University application process, the counseling team felt that it might be helpful to provide a rough snapshot of the Grade 12 year calendar. Below is what Grade 12 Branksome Hall Asia students should be working on at this time of year. 

Grade 12 Year - September 

• Maintain student grades/IB requirements - a student’s transcript is the most important document in the admissions process 

• Explore Cialfo - Some great university resources and information are found there.

• Attend Fairs and University Visits to Campus

• Students should meet multiple times with your University Counselor

• Register for standardized exams, if necessary (SAT, ACT, BMAT, TOEFL, IELTS) 

• Create a list of 8-10 schools to which you will apply and whose entrance requirements students meet or closely meet. Look at (3-4) Reach, (3) Target and (2-3) Safely schools. 

• Students should determine whether they will apply to Oxford/ Cambridge (and UK Medical Schools) or do an Early Decision (ED) in the USA. 

• Students should finalize Essays/ Personal Statements.
