Happy 8th Birthday Branksome Hall Asia!

I cannot believe how quickly these 8 years have passed - and how much we have grown during this time.  When I arrived at Branksome Hall we had enrolled only half as many students as we have today. Students were shy to say hello to me in the halls or to raise their hands in class. And outside of Gate 3 there was nothing but fields and prickle bushes.

Today, we have grown into a busy bustling school where I am greeted each morning with your smiles and warm wishes. We are a place where cafes and shops abound outside of our gates and where students debate and discuss hot topics in class and laughter is heard throughout the halls.

Birthday celebrations are also important times to take a moment to reflect and remember what is most important and to consider what it means to be a Branksome Hall Asia community:

• First, we are a family and we take care of each other.

• We value collaboration and celebrate each other’s successes.

• We recognize that the questions we ask can be more powerful than the answers we give. 

• It means something when we say, “I shine when you shine.”

• We value our differences and know that we are citizens of the world - our education reaches far beyond the physical boundaries of our school. 

• We value hard work and know that doors open when we try our best. 

• We are change agents; individuals who are committed to making this world a better place; by our words, our actions, and our deeds.

• We are proud and humbled knowing that we will be the leaders of tomorrow and we take this responsibility seriously. 

• And most importantly, Branksome Hall Asia, we are the very best international school in the world and proud of it!

I am so happy to be here with you all today to celebrate this milestone together.  Enjoy the festivities and Happy 8th Birthday Branksome Hall Asia!
