BHA Graduate Ha-Neul Yu receives the Korea Talent Award

Branksome Hall Asia is proud to announce that Ha-Neul Yu, a 2019 graduate of Branksome Hall Asia has received the Korean Talent Award. It was exciting to see Ha-Neul celebrated in the Korean media. 

Ha-Neul and 2 other students from the Jeju Special Governing Province were awarded with this prestigious honor. Ha-Neul received this recognition for her passion and efforts related to issues affecting young adolescents, victimized Japanese military comfort women, and for her proactive work to address environmental issues.  

Mr. Hyun-min Kim, the Head of Planning and Coordination Office of the Jeju Provincial Office commented on the 3 awardees saying, “We hope that these students will grow up to play a pivotal role in the development of the community and the nation in the future.” 

The awardees were selected through a regional screening process and were awarded by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Education. Each winner also received a monetary award of KRW 2.5 million. 

Ha-Neul Yu commented, “I wish to grow as a person with wisdom, passion, creative thinking, and consideration who has a sense of community and who will contribute to society.”

Ha-Neul Yu graduated from Branksome Hall Asia in 2019 and is currently attending New York University Abu Dhabi
