First Health and Wellness Fair in BranksomeHall Asia

By Branksome Hall Asia Case Club, SHE

Last Sunday the first annual Health and Wellness Fair at Branksome Hall Asia was successfully completed. The fair was hosted by SHE, a medical CASE, aiming to raise awareness about women’s health at Branksome Hall Asia. In honor of International Women’s Day, Branksome Hall Asia is dedicating the entire month of March to celebrating and empowering women, during which the members of SHE contributed by hosting the health fair.

Due to COVID-19, the fair was divided into three sessions, and each session was allotted to a different grade level. There were a variety of booths prepared by both teachers and students.  Participants covered topics about women’s health, public health, first aid and many more.

The students were able to walk around different booths, enjoying various interactive activities.  There was also a small event for the students who came. Each booth gave out stickers for every student who attended the booth in order to attach to the pamphlet allocated at the start of the fair. If the students acquired more than five stickers, they received a small prize at the check-out booth.

The following is a warm message from Ms. Jue, the supervisor for the SHE group;

I have no words for how proud I am of these amazing women. They saw a need in their community and they provided a solution, and they did it in the most amazing way possible. They worked together so harmoniously because they all had the same goal and vision. All their efforts came from the heart and they were very passionate about their work. They truly pioneered the way for future generations within their community to receive an opportunity to learn all about their health, to ask questions, to have a conversation, to love their bodies, and to educate themselves. This is a true definition of empowerment, the power to make an informed decision.  The work and dedication these girls put into this event continuously impressed me because, on top of all their schoolwork, they gave 100% into this every day. They were so excited to see the difference they were going to make within their community, and I was so happy to see all their hard work pay off. The health and well-being of our students is always our number one priority, as we have all learned in these times of COVID. I am very happy to see our community come together for the health and well-being of our students. Thank you to everyone who came and made a booth, who attended, and helped with planning. This was a community effort and I am happy to say it was a huge success. Good job, team!

The world better watch out, because these girls are making moves.

Love, Ms. Jue
