A Personal Message from our Boarding Faculty
By Mindi Dryer, Head of Boarding
Since Branksome Hall Asia has moved to online learning, the Boarding Faculty have been communicating with all Boarding students via texts, emails, video calls, and after-school virtual activities. These online conversations have allowed the Family Dons to stay connected with the students while discussing academics, college readiness, and emotional well-being.
Last week we decided to add a more personal touch to our communication and mailed Jeju-themed postcards to our G10 and G11 students. The Senior School Boarding Faculty were very excited to get the opportunity to send personalized messages to all the girls they miss so dearly.
One Don commented: "Honestly, I was just getting really lonesome for them. I've become very close to these girls, my family group, and I'd just like the opportunity to say something extra special to them." The Dons wrote positive and personalized messages for each student. The Jeju-themed postcards allowed them to offer some words of encouragement during this unusual time and to remind them of our wonderful life on Jeju and how they will return to us soon.
Our top priority in Boarding is to provide individual care for all of our students. This care is a continual effort even when they aren’t physically in the Boarding Houses. We want our students to know: “We are thinking about you and are always here for you.” The Boarding Faculty have received some very lovely messages from students in return.
