24-Hour Online Access at BHA Library

By Branksome Hall Asia Library Team

One of the BHA library long term projects involves examining how we can best provide 24-hour access to our community. Continuous access is necessary when our community originates and travels in diverse timezones. The library has been trialling digital magazine platforms throughout the year and we are pleased to announce that we have, based on feedback and community needs, decided on Press Reader. By subscribing to Press Reader we hope to provide our students and faculty with access to materials for academic and leisure reading either on or off campus. The magazines we have chosen reflect BHA’s curriculum and include positive lifestyle and popular culture titles. Magazines range from those that focus on the sciences like Popular Science and Science Illustrated; business magazines like Business Today and the Harvard Business Review; Health and wellbeing like Mindfulness and Yoga, plus an extensive range of over 2,400 different newspapers from around the world.

Take a look at PressReader today! To subscribe to the Branksome Hall Asia account, please follow these instructions. Parents are welcome to use their child(ren)’s Branksome Hall email account.  We have also put together a video to help you. If you need any further support or need usernames and passwords for the following platforms, please email us at library@branksome.asia.

TumbleBooks is another great platform with eBooks in English for our community. To access our regular BHA subscription, please email us for user names and passwords.

The company has recently added free access to other databases using the following links:

www.TumbleMath.com - K-6 math ebook database

www.TeenBookCloud.com - Grade 7-12 ebook database

www.AudioBookCloud.com - This site is an ALL ages audiobook database, however, the direct link below provides direct access to the children's section. (If you want to switch to the TEEN section, change the 33 in the link to 221.

BHA Book Outreach

Whilst exploring ways to support online learning, BHA library staff are also looking at how we can provide print books to our community.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m. the BHA Mobile Library will be available at BHA Gate 2 with a selection of mystery book bundles for you to borrow. If you are keen to have a book in your hands again or want something to read with your children, please register using this form.

You can also request specific books from our collection,  just take a look at the library catalog.

While will be practicing social distancing so you may have to wait in line for a few minutes.  We will provide some activities while you wait, courtesy of the PE Department.
