Empty Bowls(2018.05.11)

Empty Bowls Season has come back. Finally we are having an Empty Bowls Dinner on May 11(Fri) at 5:30 in STEM V Area.

Over the past several months, we have made over 200 bowls and are ready to serve food in those bowls for a dinner event.

Empty Bowl is a grassroots initiative that addresses hunger in local communities. Around the world, students make home-made bowls that are filled with soup and sold at a community dinner. Proceeds are donated to a local charity supporting food banks and initiatives in the local community. This year we are holding our 3rd Empty Bowls Dinner on May 11th, 5:30pm. Please join us for an evening of art and food donated by parents and local community. All the proceeds from this event will be donated to Jeju Branch of Good Neighbors, a charity that supports local children. Specially, the funds will be used to provide meals to school children during the weekends and school holidays when the public school lunch programs are temporally stopped. Please see the details:

It has been a tradition that BHA parents, faculty and staff support this event by donating home-made food, pastries, rice cake, bread, cookies for Empty Bowls Dinner. Food Donors will be provided a free ticket to the event. Please continue to support the tradition of contributing to our community.

Ice Cream Day(2018.05.2)


To celebrate Children’s Day, ice cream will be offered on

Wednesday, May 2nd during lunch time, a treat from the

PTA. Ice cream will offered for students as well as

faculty, staff, students, JJ catering and staff from C&S.

This year the PTA will be serving flavors including

vanilla, grape, chocolate and strawberry. We invite

everyone to pick up an ice cream which will be served in

the cafeteria and in the Junior school pod this day. This

year’s Ice Cream Day poster was designed by Soomin

Chung in Grade 11.

Maker Fair(2018.04.28)

Saturday, April 28th, 2-4 p.m., STEM-V at Branksome Hall Asia. A Makers Faire is 'the place' for makers to meet and share their inspiring projects and it's your chance to see the intersection of art, technology, and culture.

Through the GEC Schools Maker Faire, you can share any form of art and design from any of these categories: visual arts, crafts, music/dance, technology, engineering, sustainability, science, food, health or a category we haven't thought of! TEDx @Branksome Hall Aisa (2018.04.27)

It is a great pleasure to invite all of you to BHA TEDx on April 27th, 2018. BHA has created a gathering TEDx talk which will provide an opportunity to inform and share ideas, and inspire each other. The student-led talk will be held this Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at BHA PAC Auditorium with an intermission, snack, and musical performance.

"Imagine a day filled with brilliant speakers, thought-provoking video and mind-blowing conversation. Each of our fellow speaker's topic will fall under the category of humanity, psychology, technology, science, art, cultural anthropology, etc."

It will be a great night and I am certain that you will enjoy it.

Book Character Dress Up Day(2018.04.20)


There were nearly 400 “guests” on campus last Friday,
or so it seemed, as everyone in the Junior School,
teachers included, came in costume dressed as their
favorite book character. We paraded through the Junior
School pods and out onto the podium level where we
all assembled. A thoroughly enjoyable and colorful end
toBook Week. Many thanks to our wonderfully creative
students, parents and teachers and to Mrs. Robins for
organizing this fun event that has become a Junior
School tradition over the years.

"Communication Skills" A Key to Empowering Women for Success

The session was delivered to Seoul based parents in March and was very well received, and wished for our G11 & G12 students and Jeju based parents to have the opportunity to listen to the presentation.

Personal Project Celebration

You are cordially invited to the Personal Project Celebration on March 9th from 3:00pm - 5:30pm in the School Center. Our Grade 10 students will be presenting and displaying the independent projects they have completed over the past year. We are inviting Grade 9 parents to this event as well to see what will be happening in the MYP personal project next year.

Invitation to DP Art Exhibition

We are looking forward to our DP Art Exhibition on Sunday March 4th at 1pm.
The official opening will be held in STEM V area, followed by student-led tours through level 2 and 3 of the Performing Arts area. The exhibition will feature the works of 17 DP visual art students. We'd like to invite all the faculty and staff to join us to celebrate students achievements.

2017 Plaid Tidings

This year Plaid Tidings marks it’s fourth anniversary. Branksome Hall Asia’s Plaid Tidings is an annual community building event. It is a shared Branksome Hall Canada tradition and some of the activities include sales of handmade crafts, local agricultural products and an opportunity of enjoying food together and interacting with our local cultural and artistic communities.

Donated contributions collected through Plaid Tidings are returned to Branksome Hall Asia to support student projects and local and international communities.

Empty Bowl Making Event

Empty Bowls is a grassroots event that seeks to get rid of hunger in our local communities.

By making a bowl and sharing a home cooked meal, the Branksome Hall Asia community can make a meaningful contribution to ensuring that no one in our local community goes hungry. Please come and join us in making a bowl with your children. This year we are excited to announce that local Jeju potters are joining us in this event.

Meet the Teachers Day-1 September

Meet the teachers afternoon for SK to Grade 5

On Friday 1st September we invite parents of students in Grades SK to Grade 5 to come and meet the Junior School teachers and to find out more about the BHA programme and to ask questions. Each Grade will be in a different location and time. For more details, please see the JS Newsletter.

Meet the teachers evening for MS/SS

Meet the Teacher Evening will be held on September 1 st. This evening offers a chance for parents to meet their daughter’s teachers, as well an opportunity as make contact with some of the other parents of children in the same age level. The evening starts at 3:30 PM on the 1 st of September with a small reception in the 2nd floor of the MS Pod.

We encourage all parents to come to this event, so that they might meet our new faculty and have a chance to catch up with returning teachers. At 6:30 PM, we have YALE-NUS university visit (Marie Curie Theatre), everyone's welcome to join.

Branksome Hall Asia is excited to announce the 2017 Summer Series, our intensive academic, arts and athletics program. The Summer Series is an opportunity for students to challenge their creativity, experience new ideas, and explore possibilities. Building on last year’s successful program, the 2017 program includes a comprehensive academics program, and more choices in art, athletics, design, music, and performance.

Branksome Hall Asia Prep Program: Branksome Hall Asia is offering a specialized English immersion program for middle school students. Branksome Hall Asia Prep is an intensive language enrichment program that equips students with the skills and strategies to succeed in the International Baccalaureate MYP program at Branksome Hall Asia. Students in this program also choose two courses (Athletics, Arts, Music, and Performance) from the Summer Series program, providing a balanced and fun experience.

Design Thinking Family Workshop - 4 June 2016

The brand new Design Thinking workshop for families is for parents and children to experience designing, making and creating together.

Join us for a morning of making and exploring. Come and experience first hand how we integrate the IB curriculum into classroom learning at Branksome Hall Asia. Lead by Branksome Hall Asia teachers, you work alongside your child and see how we combine the latest language learning strategies, inquiry practices, and approaches to learning in our program.

It will be a morning of inquiry, learning, creating, and reflecting, and having fun too -- A typical day at Branksome Hall Asia!

Grade 5 PYP Exhibition - 10 June 2016


The PYP Exhibition is a culminating experience for students in the last year of the Primary Years Program. It is an opportunity for students to exhibit all the PYP Learner Profiles and Attitudes while engaging in a student-led, in-depth, collaborative inquiry.
