University Counseling
At Branksome Hall Asia, students intentionally explore university education and career options in consultation with university and faculty advisors. For their educational, social, and career success, students develop transferable skills that are applicable to any university or career path they choose. The University Counseling process is designed to guide students through the exploration, application, and commitment stages with both group and individual advising.
Grade 9: Who Am I?
In Grade 9, students explore their extracurricular and academic interests under the guiding question, "Who Am I?" This theme helps students focus on self-discovery, developing skills such as time management, social interaction, and self-reflection. They are encouraged to explore their passions and work towards becoming global citizens.
Grade 10: Career Guidance
In Grade 10, students delve deeper into their strengths and preferences through personal inventories and self-reflection. They investigate university education pathways that align with their interests and the global challenges they wish to address. One-on-one meetings with University Counselors help them plan their Grades 11-12 course selections.
Grade 11: University Guidance
Grade 11 students are encouraged to think intentionally about their personal and professional goals. Branksome Hall Asia hosts university representatives from around the world throughout the year who will speak with students University Counselors support them in building their application portfolios, ensuring alignment with their aspirations.
Grade 12: University Application
In Grade 12, students work closely with their University Counselor to finalize their university applications. Our goal is for each graduate to have multiple options as they evaluate their best path forward. Through guided reflection, students finalize applications, appraise opportunities and acceptances, and solidify their Branksome Hall Asia experiences for a successful transition to the next phase of life.
Global Recognition of the IB Diploma
More than 2,200 universities in over 100 countries recognize the IB Diploma Program as a valued credential. Top higher education institutions seek out and reward IB graduates, often awarding university-level credits equivalent to one full year of study. Branksome Hall Asia students have the unique opportunity to earn the IB Diploma, the Branksome Hall Asia Diploma, and for Korean students, the Korean High School Diploma.
