Branksome Hall Asia
partnerships and support

Parents

At Branksome Hall Asia we celebrate our parent' enthusiasm and many contributions to make Branksome Hall Asia a remarkable place of learning and living for our children. Parent partnerships and support touch all corners of the school community.

To see how parents have supported our community please see some of the examples below.

Friends of the Library

Become a Friend of the Library

The Branksome Hall Asia Library needs you! We are looking for volunteers to help support student learning. Library volunteers play an essential role as partners in our mission to inspire the children to become, “a community of global minded learners and leaders.” You are invited to become a foundation member of the library volunteer team. By dedicating your time and sharing your special talents with us, you will help to make a difference to the quality of the library services offered to the BHA community.

Library volunteers will be trained and supported by the library staff. There is an ongoing need for help including: sorting and shelving, checking books in and out, reading to children, assisting with special projects and much more. We would like volunteers to commit to small blocks of time (either one or two hours) in either the afternoon or morning.

By being a volunteer you will:

  • Acquire new skills and make new friends
  • Support students and teachers at BHA
  • Keep up with the latest books and periodicals

If you are interested in becoming a “Friend of the Library” or would like to find out more please email either Taryn Berghuis tarynberghuis@branksome.asia or Yeji Park yejipark@branksome.asia.

The library team looks forward to hearing from you soon.

A Celebration of Summer - Ice Cream Party

Empty Bowls

For almost the entire school year, the Empty Bowls Co-curricular had been working towards the first-ever Empty Bowls dinner to fight hunger in our local community. Tables were set up outside by the big tree, and the STEM-V was filled with the wonderful smell of delicious home-cooked food. It was great to see so many people, from all parts of our BHA family, sharing food, talking, and enjoying the summer evening.

Bringing together students, teachers, and parents, and featuring 200 bowls and over 20 different kinds of soups, we raised over 2 million KRW for the charity Good Neighbours. We are happy to announce that 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to support meals for local Jeju children during holidays and weekends when they do not receive meals through their school.

Positive change in our communities can happen at a local level—which is something that is at the heart of Empty Bowls events around the world. Our actions make our community a healthier, more vibrant, and inclusive place for all. To that end, we would like to say a big “Thank you!” to everyone who made a bowl, cooked soup, donated food, or bought a ticket. Because of your support, this event made a positive change. Next year we are aiming for a bigger dinner and a bigger impact on our community.
